These are some of the questions we are most often asked. We hope the answers will assist you in planning your booking.
How far in advance should we book our wedding car?
We don't want to make the answer sound like a sales pitch, but the reality is that the sooner you book, the wider choice of vehicle you will have. Typically, to allow maximum choice, 9 to 15 months is adviseable, although we have taken bookings 24 months in advance of the wedding date. But even if your wedding date is much closer, do check to see if we have a car available.
How do we make a booking?
Call us on 01344 644054 or 07919 288882 to check vehicle availability and price. We will then produce a formal quote and hold the vehicle provisionally for 10 days while you complete and return the documentation along with the deposit cheque.
What deposit is required to book our wedding car?
A deposit of 25% of the total wedding hire charge is required with your booking form, the balance being payable 30 days in advance of the wedding date.
How much do your wedding cars cost?
It depends on your wedding format and where it is. We have two tariffs, one for church/registry office weddings with a separate reception venue (ie twin venue) and another where the civil ceremony is at the same venue as the reception (ie single venue). Then there are variations depending on what geographical "zone" the wedding takes place compared to where our cars are based. That may sound complicated but it isn't really :-) Check the pricing in the Weddings Section to see how it works. We aren't VAT registered - so there are no hidden extras!
What is included in the wedding car price?
The Car, Chauffeur, Ribbons and Bows in white, ivory or cream and a floral arrangement in the car. In addition to this, all cars carry mineral water, tissues, first aid kit, white umbrellas - and an emergency sewing kit!
How long do we have the car?
A typical Church or Registry Office Wedding is around 3.5 to 4 hours and the car will arrive at the collection address approximately 15 to 20 minutes before the agreed departure time. The car will wait during the ceremony and while photos are taken before transporting you to the reception. The car will stay until the completion of photography at the reception location
Is champagne included in the price?
We include a complimentary half bottle of champagne for the bride and groom in our church or registry office (ie twin venue) wedding packages. If you require champagne in a second car then this can be arranged at additional cost.
Can you take the bridesmaids to the official ceremony first?
It depends on locations. Only if the bridal collection point is within 15 minutes driving time to the official ceremony venue is it practical to make two trips to the church, taking the bridesmaids on the first one. However, even then you should consider that the bridesmaids will have a 30 - 40 minute wait outside the venue. So unless the distance is much less, we would recommend the use of a second car.
We are having the ceremony and reception at the same venue. What service do you supply?
We have introduced a "single venue" package designed exactly for this wedding format. This includes driving the bride from the initial location to the official ceremony venue. with the car waiting until the end of the official ceremony and then taking the bride and groom for a short drive. Time is allowed for photography. Full details of this package are in the Weddings Section, but the service and the subsequent cost can be tailored to exactly what you want, so please contact us to discuss what further options we have available for single venue weddings.
Will the car be used for another wedding on the same day?
No. The car is only ever used for one wedding per day and is booked exclusively for your use on your wedding day. Multiple weddings with the same car on the same day can lead to problems and we don't want the possibility of anything spoiling your big day.
I require a car to take us onto another venue at the end of the reception. Can you help?
Yes - we offer a service called Honeymoon Departure, which can be used to collect the bride and groom at the end of the reception, either in the evening or on the following day and take them to another location to start their honeymoon. A separate quotation will be supplied if you require this service. However, if you book our Honeymoon Departure service at the same time as you book your wedding transport we will apply a discount to the prioce of our Honeymoon Departure service.
Can we view your wedding cars?
Of course! In fact we actively encourage it. We love showing off our cars and talking about them, and it's important to us that you can both see and try how well a particualr car will suit your individual requirements. All of our cars are garaged at one location and we can arrange viewings during the day, at evenings and at weekends. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.
What do your chauffeurs wear?
All our chauffeurs wear dark blue suits, matching ties, white shirts, and black shoes. For weddings with more than one wedding car , all chauffeurs wear identical clothing.
What would happen if the car breaks down before leaving the garage?
We have 9 wedding cars in our fleet and the company standing rule is that we will only ever hire out 6 vehicles on the one day, thereby leaving a balance of three available in the event of a vehicle failure. By having this contingency, we believe it will give you confidence in our ability to deliver the service we have agreed, while other companies running only one or two vehicles may not be able to do so. If for any reason your chosen car were to fail before your wedding day, we would discuss and agree with you the replacement vehicle. If a breakdown occurs during the hire we will supply another car as quickly as possible. That is one of the reasons that we only operate in an area close to our base.
Can we smoke in the cars?
Sorry - NO! Smoking is not allowed in any of our cars.
